Over the past few years, transformative reformsโparticularly NEP 2020โhave established a strong foundation for a more flexible, multidisciplinary, research-driven, and globally connected higher education ecosystem. The next phase is not about replacing these reforms, but about building upon them with a shared vision for ecosystem excellence. In my latest article, I propose nine strategic reforms that can help shape the next generation of higher education in India by focusing on: โ Faculty First as a national priority โ Progressive modernization of professional education โ Outcome-based regulation and quality assurance โ Shared national academic infrastructure โ Research without institutional boundaries โ A digitally empowered higher education ecosystem โ Stronger publicโprivate institutional partnerships โ Deeper industryโacademia collaboration โ Smart, evidence-based governance The central message is simple: The future of higher education lies not in isolated institutional excellence, but in building a connected ecosystem where knowledge, talent, infrastructure, technology, research, and partnerships are shared for national progress. As India moves towards Viksit Bharat 2047, strengthening our higher education ecosystem will be instrumental in developing globally competent professionals, advancing research and innovation, enhancing employability, improving public services, and accelerating socio-economic development. ๐ Read the full article here: https://lnkd.in/d6CfAdnk I look forward to hearing the perspectives of policymakers, regulators, academic leaders, faculty members, researchers, industry partners, alumni, and students.
