I'm pleased to share that our latest paper has been published in the journal International Review of Economic Policy (IREP): https://lnkd.in/eT2gmH3n This work presents smart mobility as much more than a technological transition. While digital technologies play an important role, building truly smart mobility systems also requires new forms of governance, collaboration, and value creation around data. The case of Gipuzkoa is presented and emerging mechanisms such as data cooperatives and computational cooperatives are discussed as pathways to support this transition. My sincere thanks to my co-author Prof Igor Calzada, MBA, FeRSA for the stimulating collaboration throughout this work. Through both this paper and our work at City Science Lab Gipuzkoa, I hope to contribute to the ongoing conversation on how regions can shape mobility futures that are not only smart, but also collaborative and socially grounded. City Science Lab Gipuzkoa is a project of MUBIL Fundazioa in cooperation with Gipuzkoako Foru Aldundia - Diputación Foral de Gipuzkoa and MIT Media Lab.
