Switzerland represents only 1.2% of Europe's population. Yet, it accounts for approximately 40% of Europe's core AI talent. This statistic stood out to us in the recent Swiss Deep Tech Report 2026. The report also notes that ETH Zurich ranks 1st in Europe for deep tech spinout creation. Since 2020, Zurich's robotics sector has attracted over $1 billion in funding and includes more than 45 VC-backed startups. For event planners, these numbers tell an interesting story. When we speak with organizers of innovation-focused events, we find that many are not only looking for a conference venue. They also want access to expertise, company visits, inspiring speakers, and opportunities for participants to connect with people shaping the future of their industry. Zurich offers a particularly strong environment for that. Researchers from Zurich's universities, founders building new companies, international investors, and R&D teams from global technology firms are all part of the same ecosystem. This concentration of talent is one reason why Zurich is appearing more frequently in conversations about innovation, technology, and leadership events.
