Climate Empower, the 2024–2026 project by Zonta International’s partner United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), is focused in South Sudan, Madagascar and Mozambique. This week, a delegation from Zonta International embarked on a field visit to Maputo and Pemba in Mozambique. Zonta representatives witnessed firsthand the urgent need for the Climate Empower project and its impact in action. They met youth leaders and community leaders, attended youth forums and presentations and observed a girls and boys mentorship program through Climate Empower. Zonta International President Salla Tuominen also heard directly from communities about the resources they are seeking to both access and create in order to address climate-related challenges in their local areas. Here is a small taste of the warm welcome the Zonta and UNFPA delegation received during their visit. We are so grateful to the UNFPA Mozambique team for their dedication and impactful work. Thank you to our members for your continued support. Without you, projects like this would not be possible. Get excited! More is coming soon.
