𝐈𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐅𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐞𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝? Yesterday, Agnes Adam (Head of Ideas and Innovation) and Christian Platzer (Expert Additive Manufacturing, Ideas and Innovation) attended the "Trends & Foresight: Additive Manufacturing – Is the Future Being Printed?" working group, organized by the quer.kraft Innovation Association and hosted by KSB in Pegnitz. The agenda offered exciting insights into the future of additive manufacturing: 🔹 Presentation of Bavaria's 10-year roadmap for additive manufacturing 🔹 A look at KSB's additive manufacturing activities – an impressive real-world example of metal additive manufacturing 🔹 A plant tour and firsthand insights from more than ten years of practical experience 🔹 An expert panel discussing opportunities, limitations and future trends from different perspectives The success of additive manufacturing is not driven by the technology alone. It depends on the long-term development of expertise, a deep understanding of manufacturing processes and the ability to identify the right use cases. Another key takeaway was that technological transformation is about much more than introducing new machines – it is also about culture. As a generation grows up with 3D printing technologies as a natural part of their world, mindsets are evolving, and so is the acceptance of new manufacturing methods. The open exchange of ideas and the thoughtful discussion of different perspectives once again demonstrated that innovation thrives where knowledge is shared, experiences are exchanged and emerging trends are explored together.
