Excited to share our new paper in Structures (Elsevier)! What you're watching: an EBS-ConXL steel connection under cyclic seismic loading, plastic strain building up on the left, and a full moment–drift hysteresis loop forming on the right as it's driven past 7% drift. Instead of cutting the beam (the usual RBS approach), we enlarged it. The result: 13–33% lower stress in the ConXL collar flanges, full SMRF qualification (AISC 341 / FEMA 350), maintaining capacity through 6% drift and reaching ultimate failure at 9% drift. All components are prefabricated in the factory and simply bolted together on site, with no shop or field welding required, delivering fast, industrialized, high-quality assembly. 🏗️ It was a true privilege to work alongside Prof. Rasoul Mirghaderi and Prof. S.
