Senior Lecturer in Public Service and Conference Interpreting, Translation and French at the University of Westminster
Yesterday at the University of Westminster, we were delighted to welcome Marco P. (one of our alumni) from Mothertongue, who spoke to our MA Translation and Interpreting and MA Specialised Translation students about how their agency operates, as well as the opportunities available in both freelance and in-house roles. In today’s rapidly evolving language industry, spanning translation, interpreting, subtitling, localization and voice-over to name a few, Marco offered valuable insights into how AI is being integrated into workflows, while highlighting the essential human skills linguists bring and the continued creativity of our profession. It was also inspiring to learn about Mothertongue’s structured, transparent approach, their use of diverse technologies, and their strong commitment to recognising and nurturing talent. Many thanks to Marco for such an engaging session and for giving our students a clear picture of the wide range of career paths open to them! #translation #localization #subtitling #voiceover #AI #interpreting #students
