Delegate the outcome. NOT the task. When you're handing something off, try framing it as an outcome instead of a task. Instead of: "handle my inbox while I'm out", try: "while I'm traveling, nothing urgent should fall through the cracks, these three people (X, X, and X) should feel attended to, and I should come back to something I can tackle in under an hour". The second version gives your assistant room to make judgment calls. But that only works if they have the context to make good ones. So before you delegate the outcome, make sure you've shared the information/context that makes it possible. #Stress #Vacation #Leadership #Entrepreneur #Tech
