You Don't Delegate Because You Don't Trust Anyone Yet Trust between you and an assistant gets built, slowly, through making your own preferences legible to another human being. That means explaining that you need 24 hours' notice before anything lands on your calendar. It means admitting out loud that you hate back-to-back calls on Fridays. It means saying the quiet stuff that lives only in your head because, until now, you were doing everything yourself and nobody needed to know. On the other side of all that front-loaded work is an assistant who stops asking what you need and already knows, which is a TRULY different experience and one that is very hard to give up once you've had it. The executives who get there are not the ones who found some mythical perfect assistant on the first try. That is a fantasy; a fairytale. The executives, small business owners, entrepreneurs, etc. who stayed in the discomfort long enough for the trust to build are the ones who reap the greatest rewards. We've seen it time and time again at Zirtual. So yes, you can keep booking your own flights. Or you can stop cosplaying as Business Sisyphus for the rest of your career.
