As my time as a Senator in the NYU SPS Student Council comes to an end, I want to mention what the experience was like for me. When I first joined the council, I knew I wanted to make a difference—but I didn’t realize how much this role would also shape me. Being a Senator wasn’t just about attending meetings or giving updates. It was about showing up for students—listening to their concerns, advocating for their needs, and making sure every voice had a seat at the table. Throughout the year, I had the chance to collaborate with an inspiring group of student leaders and my dear friends. We worked together to build community across programs, and create something meaningful. Some weeks were busy and overwhelming, but the sense of purpose always kept me going. This role taught me a lot about leadership, empathy, and how powerful it is when people come together with a shared goal. I’ve grown more confident in speaking up, more patient in listening, and more hopeful about the change we can create. Our Little Senators team was exceptional and I am really grateful that I got a chance to work specifically with you guys. Our Sunday evening meetings, event preps and plannings, SGA meetings and interesting discussions— everything was so special because of you guys. Couldn't have a better team than you! Your encouragement, support and constant reminders to take care of myself meant more than I can put into words. I couldn’t have done this without your support, and I’m beyond lucky to have you. To everyone I’ve met through the GSC—THANK YOU! And to future student leaders: say yes to the opportunity. You’ll give something, but you’ll gain so much more in return.
