Digital Humanist | Digital Archivist

I've always believed that the best work happens when you're surrounded by people who trust you, challenge you, and share your curiosity. For the past 20 months, I've been incredibly lucky to have exactly that. Working as a Digital Humanist on the ILEMED project at Sapienza – Università di Roma (Uniroma1) / Sapienza University of Rome's ISO Department has been more than a job; it's been a collaboration that reminded me why I love what I do. This journey has resulted in three meaningful outcomes: 📖 The open-access volume "Radical Encounters": a collection of case studies exploring the complex, often surprising interactions between Islamist and leftist movements across the MENA region from the 1960s to the 2010s. 📁 The ILEMED Digital Archive on Zenodo: a curated, open-access collection of rare political and intellectual publications from Tunisia, Egypt, Iraq, and Morocco, preserved and made machine-readable for future research. ✍️ My article, "Digital Preservation: Archiving to Explore the Intellectual History of Islamist-Leftist Encounters in the MENA Region," where I reflect on the methodology, ethics, and scholarly potential of building this digital resource. Thank you to Prof. laura guazzone and Dr. Rossana Tufaro for your vision, trust, and for creating an environment where meaningful work is possible. I am grateful to have contributed to this project.
