تم توقيع بروتوكول تعاون بين مركز التنمية المستدامة بمدينة زويل للعلوم والتكنولوجيا والابتكار وشركة الكومي جروب للاستثمار والتنمية المستدامة (واحدة من الشركات الرائدة فى مجالات التطوير والتنمية المستدامة القائمة على مفاهيم الاقتصاد الأخضر والدوار لمواكبة الاحتياج المَحلِّي والعالمي). وقد أوضح القائم بأعمال الرئيس التنفيذي لمدينة زويل/ الدكتور محمود عبدربه أنَّ استغلال وتطوير مخرجات البحث العلمي والأكاديمي، والاقتصاد المعرفي كمحور من محاور تنمية مصر الجديدة هو أحد أهم محاور العمل فى مدينة زويل؛ إذ أَنشَأت المدينة وادٍ للعلوم والتكنولوجيا؛ ليكون وسيلةً للتواصل والعمل على نقل ثمار الأبحاث من علوم ومعارف للمجتمع المصري وازدهار الصناعة؛ للمساهمة في خلق شركات فى العلوم والتكنولوجيا. كما أشار رئيس مجلس إدارة شركة الكومي جروب أنَّ الشركة قد استثمرت منذ نشأتها فى مجالات البحوث والتطوير خاصةً في مجال زراعة طحالب سبيرولينا. مضيفًا، بأنَّ الشركة تعطي أولوية وعناية خاصة بتدريب وتطوير مهارات العنصر البشري والشباب؛ لمواكبة التحديات ونشر النتائج المودية لتوطين مفاهيم الاقتصاد الأخضر فى مصر. A cooperation protocol has been signed between the Center of Sustainable Development in Zewail City of Science and Technology and Elkomy group company for investment and sustainable development, one of the leading companies in the field of sustainable development that's based on green and circular economies to cope with local and global needs. Moreover, The Acting Executive President of Zewail City, Dr. Mahmoud Abdrabou, noted that implementing the outputs of scientific and academic research and the improvement of the knowledge economy are of the focal points of development for New Egypt and are of the major goals of the city. In addition, the city has founded The Valley of Science and Technology to utilize all of the research in industry, convey science to the Egyptian society, and contribute to founding science and technology companies. Professor Hatem Elkomy, the Chairman of Elkomy group, also noted that since its inception, the company has invested in research and development, especially in the cultivation of Spirulina algae. He also added that the company gives special attention to training and developing the skills of youths to help them overcome challenges and achieve remarkable results that would contribute to boosting the green economy sector in Egypt.
