https://lnkd.in/e9qcfDcX Mr Skaith has also appointed Cllr Jenny Kent, a Labour councillor who represents Holgate on City of York Council , to become the newly created portfolio holder for environment and climate change on the combined authority. The Labour mayor said Cllr Kent, who is also York council’s executive member for environment and climate emergency, will help to “coordinate our response to the climate emergency and making progress towards becoming the first carbon negative region in England”. Cllr Kent said: "There are so many opportunities in North Yorkshire and York for the environment and sustainability. It is going to be an exciting year ahead."
