π New paper out in npj 2D Materials and Applications! In this work, we demonstrate confinement epitaxy of large-area 2D Sn at the graphene/SiC interface, opening a scalable route to atomically thin elemental materials. The study highlights how graphene can act as a protective and functional platform for stabilizing novel 2D phases with promising electronic and optoelectronic properties. This approach offers exciting opportunities to engineer new van der Waals heterostructures and explore emergent physics in low-dimensional systems. together with: Dr. Narmina Balayeva Christoph Tegenkamp Dietrich RT Zahn Thomas Seyller #2DMaterials #Graphene #Physics #SurfaceScience π npj 2D Mat. and App.Β 10, 51Β (2026)Β π https://lnkd.in/dba7e_ct
