7 years. 237K YouTube subscribers. 22.8M+ views. 119K Instagram followers. Completely organic. When I started creating content 7 years ago, I thought I was just picking up a camera to share my story. I didn’t realize it would completely change the way I think, work, and interact with the world. Content creation taught me how to build communities, understand audiences, and communicate ideas in ways that move people. But more importantly, it showed me that these lessons don’t just belong on social media, they spill into every part of life. I leaned on them throughout my four years of college while taking on several student leadership roles and building inclusive spaces. I used them during my job search, where telling my story to recruiters was no different from connecting with an audience online. And today, in a corporate setting, those same lessons shape how I analyze data, present ideas, and collaborate with teams. The biggest realization? The responsible and authentic use of social media is not about numbers at all, it’s about how storytelling can open doors, connect people, and create opportunities in places you’d never expect.
