We won bronze at the Capstone Fair! 🥉 Alhamdulillah, I’m very proud of what our team built with the Virtual Reality Operator Preparedness Simulator (VR OPS): a VR training system for natural gas operators with immersive simulations, a RAG-powered AI assistant for real-time guidance, a physical control panel for tactile feedback to build psychomotor skills, and an admin dashboard to manage training across an organization. The problem is real: flying technicians to remote sites is expensive, and even then they’re mostly observing with no way to drill emergency procedures safely. VR OPS lets operators run high-stakes scenarios repeatedly before ever stepping onto a live site. The framework can extend to any high-risk training environment: aviation, nuclear, emergency response, and beyond. Thank you to our advisor Dr. Nashaat Nassar and his research group for their guidance, and our TA hourieh jamali for keeping us on track throughout. Thanks to all the judges and everyone who stopped by. We were glad to be one of the more popular booths at the fair!
