President of Urban College of Boston | TEDx Speaker
When asked how Urban College of Boston differs from other colleges, this is the kind of evidence I offer. We bring college to where busy adults with complex lives are. We accommodate students rather than ask them to accommodate us. Online learning and student engagement make college possible for first-generation and historically underserved students. Our students know that they belong and they create supportive communities that we facilitate. I will add that we spoke four languages in this meeting. Multiculturalism and multilingualism are assets that enrich our classrooms and workplaces. This is what democratizing college access looks like. It’s in your dining room, your car, your laundromat, your gym, your workplace, and everywhere our students travel. We center the most marginalized students. Thank you, Rosana Perella, J.D. , Priscilla H. Douglas, and Anna Berry for making college possible for all.
