PhD Candidate, NUS

šŸš€ Starting my research-sharing journey on LinkedIn. I am currently a PhD candidate at the National University of Singapore, working on topology optimization for thermal-fluid systems, with applications in data center cooling and cold plate design. Topology optimization has transformed structural design over the past decades, but applying it to fluid flow and heat transfer remains a fascinating challenge. Unlike traditional design approaches that rely heavily on engineering intuition, topology optimization allows us to systematically discover high-performance designs by solving a large-scale optimization problem under physical constraints. My research focuses on questions such as: šŸ”¹ How can we generate better cooling channel layouts automatically? šŸ”¹ How can we balance heat transfer performance and pressure loss? šŸ”¹ How can we reduce the computational cost of topology optimization and find the better design? Over the coming months, I will share insights from my work on: • Topology optimization algorithms • Sensitivity analysis and adjoint methods • MMA/GCMMA-based optimization • CFD acceleration techniques • Reduced-order and surrogate modeling • Thermal management applications in data centers My goal is to bridge optimization theory with practical engineering applications and contribute to more energy-efficient thermal management solutions. Looking forward to connecting with researchers and engineers interested in topology optimization, computational engineering, and thermal-fluid sciences. #TopologyOptimization #Optimization #CFD #HeatTransfer #ThermalManagement #Engineering #ComputationalEngineering #DataCenterCooling #Research #PhDLife
