99.9994% of cold outreach sucks. Here's why: Messages are too generic. No research has been done on prospects. Pitch-slapping within the first 2 lines. Here's the right way to do cold outreach: #1 Personalize your messages Go to the person's LinkedIn profile and look for something relevant to mention in your messaging. An event, a speech they gave, or a post they made. ANYTHING that clearly shows your message is NOT automated. #2 Understand your prospect's needs Prospects don't care about your product or service. They only care about their own problems and whether you can fix them. In every conversation: Seek to understand their primary problem. If you can, offer to help them solve it. And most importantly... #3 Be helpful. Not pushy. Nobody likes a door-to-door salesman. People can see straight through you when you pitch. It's clear you don't CARE about them. Enter conversations to build a relationship and add genuine value. The funny thing is... you'll make more sales than ever this way. It just takes patience.
