Bengaluru-based GalaxEye Space has launched its flagship satellite Mission Drishti aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9, marking a milestone for India’s private space sector. At 190 kg, it is the largest satellite built by a private Indian company. Mission Drishti uses a hybrid OptoSAR system, combining optical imaging with Synthetic Aperture Radar to capture high-resolution images in all conditions, day or night, even through cloud cover. This fusion delivers up to 3x more actionable data than traditional satellites, unlocking use cases across disaster response, agriculture, border monitoring, and infrastructure planning. Launched from California on 3 May 2026, the mission also reflects a broader shift. Indian startups are focusing on advanced payloads while leveraging global launch providers, signalling a more innovation-led space ecosystem. #GalaxEye #MissionDrishti #SpaceTech #PrivateSpaceIndia
