#youngone #uzbekistan Jaeyong Park, President of Youngone Corporation, announced on June 16 at the Korea–Uzbekistan Economic Cooperation Forum 2026 held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, that “we plan to expand the value chain of the Samarkand plant to include textiles by early next year.” Youngone Group operates the outdoor brand The North Face and conducts OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) and ODM (Original Design Manufacturing) businesses for global brands such as Lululemon, Patagonia, and Arc’teryx. Uzbekistan serves as a key production hub, enabling duty-free exports to Europe, one of its primary markets. President Park, who leads Youngone’s textile business, stated, “We aim to move beyond simple garment assembly and expand into textile operations encompassing fabric manufacturing, dyeing, and finishing.” He further noted that the current investment of approximately USD 22 million in the production facility will be increased to a total of USD 40 million, including existing investments, within the next three years. President Park emphasized, “In Uzbekistan, the world’s eighth-largest cotton producer, we envision establishing a fully integrated vertical system—from yarn spinning and weaving/knitting to garment manufacturing. Through enhancing cotton product quality and expanding into high-value-added segments such as performance products, we will actively support Uzbekistan in becoming a leading country in textiles, apparel, and fashion.”
