Young Global Leaders had the opportunity to engage in a candid conversation with the Pamela Coke-Hamilton, Executive Director of the International Trade Centre on leadership in periods of disruption and uncertainty. One of the strongest lessons from the session was that crisis response should begin with core purpose, not panic. In moments of turbulence, institutions often react in every direction at once. But effective leadership requires something more disciplined: returning to the core first, defining what must remain constant, and allowing that clarity to guide adaptation and decision-making. The discussion also explored how today’s global disruptions are not simply moments of breakdown, but moments of transition that require leaders who can navigate complexity without losing sight of mission, values and long-term purpose. #YGL26
