College access. It starts inside at the Y! On June 17, we hosted our 2026 College Decision Day at John Jay College (CUNY), celebrating 85 YMCA Rowe Scholar teens on their way to higher education. Our Rowe Scholars program is a free, citywide initiative that equips teens with comprehensive college and career guidance. At this year’s College Decision Day, 13 Rowe Scholars were awarded nearly $75,000 in scholarships. Special thanks to our scholarship funders who help Y youth succeed: Karl and Mary Ellen von der Heyden, Richard Wasserman, Richard Vogt, Deloitte, Macy’s, the Visionaries Inspiring Dreams and Ambitions (VIDA) Awards and Golf & Gala committee members, and our President and CEO Sharon Greenberger.
