Ten years ago, Jake bought his YETI cooler from a scratch & dent sale at YETI’s warehouse and loaded up his car for a 4-month road trip from Texas to Canada, fishing his way north. He’d just left a job and knew he wanted his next move to feed his passion for the outdoors and relationship building. YETI had an opening for an inside sales representative, and after his drive back to Texas, he had an interview “on the first day of dove season,” as Jake recalls. Jake built strong relationships through sales, but also internally at YETI, and transitioned his role from Sales to the Community Team. Today, Jake is the Community Marketing Manager for the outdoor team, responsible for working with partners and Ambassadors in our heritage communities of hunt, fish, mountain, coastal, ranch & rodeo, and equestrian. “Back when I applied to YETI, I wanted to be part of a growing team, wanted to build relationships in my work, have my work tie in to my personal interests, and work for an Austin brand.
