When Security Components Are Unavailable, We Engineer Our Own.🛡️ The purpose of this project was simple: to create an accessible, effective countermeasure against unauthorized audio surveillance for environments where sensitive data must remain private. In a landscape where surveillance tech is everywhere and privacy tools are restricted, we faced a choice: leave our data exposed, or engineer our own defense. Building an Ultrasonic Privacy Shield (Speech Jammer) in Pakistan wasn't just a project—it was a lesson in resourcefulness. Faced with severe component shortages, we didn't back down. We pivoted, sourced alternatives, and re-engineered our hardware architecture to perform under pressure. By utilizing a Digispark ATtiny85 microcontroller and a PAM8403 amplifier to drive ultrasonic transducers, we created a custom, robust defense that forces MEMS-based microphones to go silent. This project was a deep dive into rigorous training and high-stakes engineering. It proved one thing: when you’re committed to a build, you don’t wait for the perfect environment—you create the solution you need.
