“Hi! What’s your name?” “Which section are you in?” “Where are you from?” If it’s your first week in college like it is mine, you’ve probably heard this exact loop of questions every single day. Now, this is when I came across Coca Cola’s Friendly Twist Campaign and I found it extremely interesting. Originally created for college freshmen, Coca-Cola replaced ordinary bottle caps with interlocking caps that could only be opened when two people locked and twisted them together, turning a simple drink into an icebreaker. A simple bottle. A simple interaction. A powerful idea. It wasn’t about opening a Coke; it was about opening a conversation. That got me thinking... How can Coca-Cola reimagine the Friendly Twist for today's day and age? 🥤 Paired QR Experience: Two students scan their interlocking bottles simultaneously to unlock a shared digital challenge or icebreaker prompt. 🏷️ Conversation Stickers: Limited-edition wearable label prompts like “Looking for a case competition partner”, “Let’s not talk about CVs” or “Let’s explore the campus together” to make breaking the ice effortless. 📸 Capture Your First: A campus-wide digital keepsake gallery celebrating your first friend, first shared laugh, or first late-night study session. The original campaign helped people open a bottle together. Today, it can help them build a community together. Because honestly, I think the absolute best thing a brand can achieve is becoming a part of someone's "firsts." The first hello. The first real laugh. The first actual friend you make in a brand-new city. When a brand manages to hook itself onto those tiny, core memories, it stops being a product you buy off a shelf. It just naturally becomes a part of your story. #CokeAmbassador #CocaCola #FriendlyTwist #Marketing #BrandStorytelling #MBAJourney #CampusLife
