Policy behind it: India's maritime neighbourhood policy and Global South diplomacy. Who it impacts: India's strategic positioning across the Indian Ocean region. 4. Gig Workers to get Social Security — Labour Code 2020 What: Aggregators must now register gig workers within 45 days; health, maternity, and disability benefits included. Policy behind it: Social Security Code 2020 first formal protection for platform economy workers. Who it impacts: 7.7 million gig workers today; projected 23.5 million by 2030. Policy is not always loud.
