Traverse is a data research lab building the training data that makes frontier models superhuman in ambiguous, judgment-heavy domains. Reinforcement learning has pushed models beyond human performance in math and coding as these fields have clean, verifiable feedback. But most economically valuable work, like law, sales, system design, creative judgment, does not. Current incumbents use synthetic data to create environments; experts at laptops answering questions, creating rubrics, annotating. That’s great at making models average, but it will not make them superhuman. Traverse is defining a new type of data category.
