Saffron evaluates how well software engineers use AI to code. AI tools have changed the coding workflow so fundamentally that the entire hiring process is testing for skills that no longer reflect the job. A good engineer can write clean code that works. But a great engineer can now leverage coding agents to be orders of magnitude more efficient. Unfortunately no current assessment measures that. Saffron gives candidates a real codebase and the ability to use any coding agents they'd use on the job. It captures every prompt, diff, and decision in a sandboxed environment and automatically scores them. Teams can now get structured metrics on how candidates actually build, along with full observability that was never available before.
