The pradox of tolerance: without rage against injustice, we stand by and let blood flow when russia invades Ukraine and the invader takes, steals and mutilates whatever and whoever it wishes. Without a sense of justice, tyrants have their way. If we convince ourselves to “go along to get along” with anything, we risk losing everything that matters. We ought to rage against evil. We should dislike greed and poverty inflicting ordinary people. We should rage against cryptic tangles of deceit and beacons of ignorance intended to confuse our values. Let us make this world with the courage of a Kozák and of a father or mother from Kyiv. Let us dance with power upon the ties and suits of would-be usurpers. Let us sleep soundly, knowing our rage and hate has found a plan to defeat evil, so that our love and joy may one day soon nourish us like sunlight upon our faces. Let us love to become heroes.
