What does meaningful allyship look like in a male-dominated sector? Our European MentorMe programme connects employees with experienced mentors to support their development, share knowledge and help unlock their potential. Today, mentees are split 50/50 between men and women, a concrete step toward the gender balance our industry still needs. Simon Evans, our VP Dedicated Supply Chain, is one of the mentors behind that commitment. And today, he joined CILT (UK)’s panel on male allyship alongside Darren Twiselton (ZigZag Global), Richard Stevens (Plymouth Citybus), and was chaired by Erin Meehan for a practical conversation on accelerating gender equity in logistics, not as a special effort but as everyday leadership behaviour. The session covered what good allyship looks like in practice: speaking up in the rooms women aren't in, challenging unconscious bias before it shapes decisions and creating working environments where every voice is heard and acted on.
