Dr. Tamas Petrovic and his team in Serbia at the Sci Vet Institute Novi Sad have built one of the most data-rich, field-based zoonotic surveillance systems in Europe. Using qPCR, magnetic bead extraction (incl. SwiftX™ Virus), and nanopore sequencing, they’re mapping the true molecular footprint of Leptospira, Borrelia, Brucella, and Coxiella in wild and domestic reservoirs. “We’re no longer doing classical veterinary work.
