LONDON CALLING. ** Called!! Some rooms earn their legend. And tonight, one of them ends a chapter. Due to unforeseen circumstances (the good kind), tonight, (10 July 26), is the last time Maxine's will be at The Frontline Club. Why does this matter? Because The Frontline Club is an incredible, iconic London space. The walls hold stories, memorabilia and images shot by journalists and correspondents across the years, the kind of thing most people never get to see. You feel the weight of it the second you walk in. This is the last time Maxine Tallulah and the Sixx take the stage for an intimate farewell set, with a few special guests along to sing it out properly. To mark the occasion, I am doing something I rarely do: a pop-up portrait session, right in the thick of it. And for one night only, there is an exclusive viewing of some recently discovered Bowie images by legendary photographers Lee Black Childers and Bob Gruen. That is a piece of rock history on the wall beside you while you are photographed. Tonight promises to be a night to remember. With The Sixx kicking off events with their latest tracks, which are produced by legend Al Scott, the man behind the Levellers. Fronting it all is Maxine Tallulah, a powerhouse vocalist who has held rooms from the Vegas Strip to the Royal Albert Hall. On keys is Dave Blackman, keyboard player, extraudinauore and producer who lays down piano and Hammond organ with real feel. With Marty Love, on drums, a genuine punk veteran who has kept time for Johnny Moped since 2015 and also plays Wingmen and The Sensible Grey Cells alongside Captain Sensible, so yes, he can hit hard, even if The Sixx are a very different Californian 60s vibe. On bass is Richie from folk-punk legends The Men They Couldn't Hang. A proper quarter of a band, and on a night like this you just never know who wanders in. So what is the pop-up portrait actually like? No stiff poses. No awkward smiles. No AI-generated filler that looks like everyone else. Just you, one light (maybe two, if the curtains are open!) and thirty minutes while the room is alive around you. You receive an edited image you are proud to put on your profile, as well as a private gallery of the full set, with web- and print-ready files, and of course entry to the last time Maxine performs at the front line, a drink and pizza. A proper way to end your Friday. Three ways to book: - Early Bird £425 (first 4 slots, going now) nearly gone.. - Standard £525 once the early ones have flown away) - On The Door £595 (at the event, if any remain) Full details: just follow the link in the comments below.
