π Design Migration: A Strategic Response to Supply Chain Risk and Regionalization In a recent interview with Silicon Semiconductor, X-FAB's Director Business Development & Technology Strategy, JΓΆrg Doblaski, discusses why design migration has become a growing priority across the semiconductor industry. As geopolitical developments continue to reshape global supply chains, many semiconductor companies are pursuing regionalized manufacturing strategies to serve customers in Asia, Europe and the Americas from geographically diversified supply networks. This is driving demand for efficient migration of existing IC designs between foundries and process technologies. The interview also highlights another important industry trend: the scale-down, end-of-life and re-focusing of 200mm manufacturing capacity at some Asian foundries, creating challenges for automotive, industrial and medical applications that continue to rely on mature-node technologies. Joerg explains how X-FAB, together with Cadence, is helping customers simplify design migration through automated workflows that reduce engineering effort, accelerate time-to-production and support "first-time-right" results. The ultimate goal: helping customers reduce supply chain risk while ensuring long-term product continuity. π₯ Watch the full interview to learn more about: β Regionalization and supply chain resilience β Faster migration between process nodes and foundries β Reducing design effort through automation β Long-term support for automotive, industrial and medical applications β Future opportunities for AI-enabled design migration flows π Link to interview: https://lnkd.in/eSrPecPz #XFAB #Semiconductors #DesignMigration #AutomotiveElectronics #Foundry #SemiconductorManufacturing #Cadence #SupplyChainResilience
