"You need to know how to fail if you're going to be a successful scientist, and sports allow you to fail," explains Core Faculty member Jim Collins. "No matter how good you are, you're going to fail. Meaning, you're going to miss your basket. You're going to strike. You're going to let the goal in. Learning to deal with that is really valuable. I think my experience as an athlete shaped me as a scientist in unexpected and important ways." In this episode of The Pulse, a podcast from the Harvard Griffin GSAS Biotech Club, Collins discusses the impact of sports on his life, along with his childhood, his journey into synthetic biology, his past work, bioethics, AI, and his other hobbies. https://lnkd.in/esRKduPX
