Too often, animal models don't accurately reflect human physiology, so therapies that appear safe and effective in animal studies turn out to be harmful or ineffective when they enter clinical trials. To make drug discovery more efficient, Wyss researchers developed Organs-on-Chips: microfluidic culture devices that recapitulate the complex structures and functions of living human organs. Now, Emulate, Inc. is leveraging this technology to mimic human organs in vitro, enabling faster, better, and cheaper drug development and insights into human health. https://lnkd.in/gzJXt55
