One of the species recently shifting on the IUCN #RedList is the European bison. 🦬 After going extinct in the wild in 1927, European bison were downlisted from ‘Vulnerable’ to ‘Near Threatened’ in 2020 as populations recovered. In Romania, efforts led by #WWF and Rewilding Europe, supported by local communities and co-funded by the European Union's LIFE program, have successfully reintroduced these iconic animals into their natural habitat - the Natura 2000 Tarcu Mountains site, located in the South-Western Carpathians. 📢SHARE the video to celebrate with us.
