IFAT ended just as excitingly for us as it had begun – with two interesting panel discussions at our booth 🎤 We were delighted that both attracted a great deal of interest. During the first panel discussion, the audience heard first-hand about the wide range of career opportunities within the STRABAG Group 🚀 The session was moderated by Christian Zoller (STRABAG/WTE Wassertechnik). He was joined by Max Adelmann (STRABAG), Barbara Cardoso (WTE Wassertechnik) and Dr. Bojan Pelivano (WTE Betriebsgesellschaft), who spoke about their experiences and different career pathways. All agreed that the water sector is a field with a promising future, offering exciting prospects – such as the opportunity to work globally, collaborate with people from a wide variety of countries and cultures, and make a sustainable impact on water quality. What is also special about STRABAG and WTE is that, as general contractors, we can offer jobs across the entire cycle – from the initial idea through to the operational management of the completed plant. The second panel discussion focused on a topic that will have a decisive impact on the future of our industry in EU member states – the new Urban Wastewater Treatment Directive and the 4th treatment level. Elmar Voggenberger, Teamleader Competence Center Water Technologies at STRABAG, was joined by Prof. Dr Norbert Kreuzinger from the Vienna University of Technology. He provided a detailed analysis of the requirements arising from the new EU directive for the water sector. In doing so, he examined in detail the reasons for introducing the 4th treatment level, the necessary upgrades to existing plants and the resulting new challenges for wastewater treatment. Many thanks to everyone involved for the interesting insights! 🙌 #wte #strabag #StrongTogether #ShapingTheFuture #ifat2026
