TikTok Shop is now live in Belgium and it opens new opportunities for brands and retailers. TikTok already reaches 4.3 million users in Belgium, and consumer behaviour has been shifting fast. Since its local launch on 15 June 2026, TikTok Shop merges content, product discovery and checkout into one native flow. No redirect to an external site: the video itself becomes the storefront, and the purchase happens without ever leaving the app. For brands and retailers, the strategic questions are real: šŸ“± Will TikTok Shop start pulling budget away from (retail) media and search? šŸ¬ Do retailers need to defend their role with stronger closed-loop measurement? šŸš€ Can brands use creator partnerships to leapfrog traditional retail barriers? Across Europe, the momentum is already visible: TikTok reports 100,000+ businesses now active on Shop, highlighting the potential for the Belgian Retail market. As David Debie, Director Commerce at WPP Media, puts it: "Our objective is to design media plans where each channel performs its corresponding function in the consumer journey. WPP Media Belgium's role is to assess this objectively, where and when it genuinely earns a place in a client's media mix." Our latest paper breaks down the four commerce formats, the merchant compliance requirements, and what this means for channel strategy in the Belgian market. šŸ“„ Download the full report here: https://lnkd.in/ej2S5a7p #TikTokShop #SocialCommerce #Media #Retail #DigitalMarketing #WPPMedia #Belgium
