Our goal is to create technologies that improve lives while making healthcare more accessible and effective.โ€ โ€“ Dr. Mohammad Ashfaq An Associate Professor at Woxsen University and a key member of the Central R&D Cell, Dr. Ashfaq is redefining how therapeutics enter the human body: painlessly, precisely, and at the cellular level. His central question is deceptively simple. Can medicine be delivered more effectively, painlessly, and exactly where the body needs it? His answer takes the form of rapidly separating polymeric microneedle systems โ€” platforms capable of controlled drug delivery, including insulin administration, without the pain or invasiveness of conventional injection. ย  What makes the work remarkable is its reach beyond the clinic. Dr. Ashfaq has extended microneedle technology into next-generation sensing platforms for agriculture and environmental monitoring, turning a biomedical innovation into a tool for planetary health. ย  Trained at IIT Kanpur โ€” among Indiaโ€™s most rigorous scientific institutions โ€” he has conducted research across four continents: Beijing University of Chemical Technology, the University of La Serena and University of Concepciรณn in Chile, and Chulalongkorn University in Thailand. The result is a research portfolio spanning nanomaterials, biomaterials, polymeric microneedles, biosensors, wound-healing materials, and sustainable environmental technologies. ย  The numbers are equally telling: more than 113 peer-reviewed publications, 10 patents filed across India and Thailand, multiple edited books, and recognition among Stanford Universityโ€™s Worldโ€™s Top 2% Scientists for three consecutive years โ€” 2023, 2024, and 2025. ย  As Associate Editor of Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology (Springer Nature), an Editorial Board Member of Scientific Reports (Springer Nature), and Guest Editor for journals across Springer Nature, MDPI, and Frontiers, Dr. Ashfaq helps set emerging directions in biotechnology, materials science, and biomedical engineering. ย  At the intersection of materials science, biomedical engineering, and sustainability, Dr. Ashfaq is training the next generation of scientists to think at the scale where the most consequential medicine of the coming decades will be made โ€” invisible to the eye, but felt across millions of lives. ย  Link to Google Scholar: https://lnkd.in/dTQg23DX ย  Raul Villamarin Rodriguez | Anindo Bhattacharjee, PhD #ResearchFirst #Nanotechnology #Biomaterials #Microneedles #DrugDelivery #BiomedicalEngineering #Biotechnology #Innovation #Top2PercentScientist #ResearchImpact #MaterialsScience
