In southwestern Uganda, a group of women leaders has spent decades restoring a threatened forest reserve. But doing the work was never enough on its own. They also had to prove it. With support from TerraFund, SWAGEN tracked their progress across 169 hectares using World Resources Institute's MRV framework, and had the results independently verified through satellite analysis. What the monitoring confirmed: 🌱199,649 trees planted 🗺️169 hectares mapped and monitored 💪10,182 women employed 💼22,224 jobs created 🛰️71,122 new trees independently detected via satellite When the data is this clear, funders can invest with confidence.
