Globally, 1/3 of potential urban emission reductions depends on collaboration 🤝 between local, regional and national governments — making multilevel partnerships critical to achieving the goals of the Paris Agreement. This week, the new nine-country Coalition for High-Ambition Multilevel Partnerships (CHAMP) Steering Group met for the first time in-person in Bonn, 🇩🇪, to shape the coalition’s strategic direction and align on priorities for its forthcoming Implementation Roadmap, the guiding blueprint for the next three years of #CHAMPclimate. Co-Chaired by Brazil 🇧🇷 and Germany 🇩🇪, the Steering Group also includes Colombia 🇨🇴, the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, Ethiopia 🇪🇹, the European Union 🇪🇺, Kenya 🇰🇪, the Philippines 🇵🇭 and Sweden 🇸🇪. It holds overall strategic responsibility for the coalition, with the 77 CHAMP-endorsing countries (plus the EU) leading delivery on the ground.
