Progress on hepatitis elimination is real — but it remains fragile. Countries have shown that elimination is possible, even in constrained settings. But getting there requires a shift in approach, not just more effort. Partnerships will be key. And investment is not optional — it is what makes scale-up possible, said Dr Catharina Boehme, Officer-in-Charge, WHO South-East Asia Region, ahead of the World Hepatitis Summit 2026, at the Pre-Conference Workshop today. #WHS2026 She called on: ➡️ countries to embed hepatitis firmly within UHC and primary health care agendas ➡️ partners and donors to sustain advocacy and protect hepatitis programmes amid global uncertainty ➡️ WHO to continue as a trusted technical partner and convener — supporting implementation, monitoring progress, and accelerating pathways to elimination validation #Hepatitis #HealthForAll #UHC #GlobalHealth
