The infrastructure we build to support energy transition plans does not just impact human beings' living environment. As more countries pursue a balanced energy mix, understanding the best ways to manage an increase in built energy systems with the biodiversity in the areas the are constructed in is becoming crucial. In Finland, one clean energy company has found an innovative way to allow fish to swim throw hydropower dams. 🎬This film showcases Fortum's work with a fish passage system called 'Fishheart' - an incredible technological invention that protects endangered marine species, promoting biodiversity on rivers in Europe and inspiring future generations. 🛶🌲 This short film is part of Series 2 of “Humanising Energy”, produced for us by BBC StoryWorks to showcase innovation across the energy ecosystem and spotlight the people who are responding to climate change by spearheading solutions to the problems impacting their communities.
