🌍 This year's World Energy Issues Monitor Africa regional report highlights a continent whose energy transition goals aren't limited by resources, but by its ability to unlock enough finance and build transmissions connections top build energy systems that can support long-term growth and resilience. The challenge is no longer about resource availability but instead system readiness and execution at scale. ⚡ What’s driving the change? • Finance and investment are now the region's biggest uncertainty • Energy affordability and access continues to be a critical issue across the world's youngest continent. Countries across the region are stepping up to continue to deliver clean and inclusive transitions despite these challenges. From South Africa's major structural reforms across its utilities and in its private investment policies, to Kenya's integration of renewable generation to support local industries, to Ghana's financial reforms restoring investor confidence, Africa's energy leaders and policymakers are stepping up to deliver on their energy transition ambitions amidst geopolitical turbulence. How best the region can build a future of more and better energy will depend on its ability to align infrastructure, policy regulations, and investments swiftly enough to meet rising demands.
