🌎 This year's World Energy Issues Monitor Latin America & the Caribbean regional report highlights a continent that has the resources to progress its energy transition ambitions, but is facing mounting challenges. The challenge is no longer about resource availability but instead system readiness and execution at scale. ⚑ What’s driving the change? β€’ Finance and investment are now the region's biggest uncertainty β€’ Grids are now the pacing factor for energy transitions β€’ Delivery ambition is colliding with infrastructure bottlenecks β€’ And the question facing energy leaders across the continent is how to deliver energy more reliably to meet increasing demands. States across the region are stepping up to continue to deliver clean and inclusive transitions despite these challenges. From Brazil's usage of renewable energy integration to power its industrial growth, to Chile's significant investments in energy storage and grid upgrades, to Central America's regional interconnections and transmissions bolstering cross border efficiency, resilience, and energy security. How best the region can build a future of more and better energy will depend on its ability to align infrastructure, policy regulations, and investments swiftly enough to meet rising demands.
