People often ask me, "What does an average day look like at Woodlane Pantry?" Well let me tell you most days start before sunrise, filling the dehydrators before opening our retail store in Mannum. Then it's a whirlwind of: Filling online orders Talking with farmers about surplus produce Packing products Chocolate dipping citrus and fruit Chatting with customers in store Creating social media content Answering phone calls Working with producers to develop new value-added products Labelling bags Paying farmers for their produce Collecting surplus from farms Delivering to wholesalers Restocking shelves Cleaning the factory and equipment Doing store tastings Making chocolates for the PS Mayflower And more ...and then I do it all again tomorrow. It's incredibly busy, physically demanding and often overwhelming. Like so many small business owners, I'm constantly juggling a dozen balls, usually for very little financial reward. So why do I do it? Because every bag we produce represents produce that wasn't wasted and represents money back into the hands of Australian farmers. It real food finding a purpose instead of ending up in landfill. That's what gets me out of bed every morning. But here's my reality as heard on Patrice Douglas #acresofambition podcast. This mission only works if people buy the products. Every purchase helps me rescue more produce, supports another farmer and allows me to keep creating nutritious, shelf-stable food that makes life easier for everyday older Australians. The more you buy, the more we can save, it's that simple. Thank you to every single person who has supported Woodlane Pantry. You're not just buying a meal you are helping build a food system where good food is valued, farmers are supported, and less goes to waste. My tiny 70sq factory proves that small businesses really can make a big difference. 💚 #WoodlanePantry #SupportLocal #AustralianFarmers #FoodRescue #Sustainability #RegionalBusiness #SocialEnterprise #ValueAdd #BuyLocal #SmallBusiness Kelly Johnson
