We’re excited to welcome our new ambassador for Women in AI Belgium, Dr. Laura Caroli Dr. Laura is a policy expert specializing in AI governance and regulation. With a PhD from the Università degli Studi di Trieste, she built her expertise over a decade as Senior Policy Advisor at the European Parliament, where she played a central role in shaping the EU AI Act — leading technical negotiations on behalf of MEP Brando Benifei. She subsequently joined the CSIS Wadhwani AI Center in Washington, D.C. as Senior Fellow for one year, focusing on AI governance frameworks, regulatory trends, and transatlantic policy alignment. A regular voice in international forums, she has contributed to global, transatlantic and European debates on how to govern AI responsibly and effectively. Alongside her policy work, she co-founded the EWA European Women Alliance, where she and other advocates for greater representation of women in public life.  Welcome to the community, Dr. Laura!
