What a way to close day two of the Wolt Discover! Global Retail Summit in Athens. There were so many meaningful conversations, new connections made, and old ones strengthened by the simple pleasure of seeing each other in person. Across the morning and afternoon sessions, we touched on some of the questions many retailers are thinking about right now: how local commerce scales, how organisations adapt, and how AI moves from possibility to impact. Imri Galai opened the day in conversation with Shirel Hogeg, Natalie Berg and Pekka Litmanen on local commerce, leadership choices and what has to change inside retail organisations when fast, local, digital demand becomes a growth engine. Holger Harreis from McKinsey & Company took us into agentic AI, with all the excitement, but also the tension: companies are experimenting, investing and imagining what could be possible, while many are still working out how to turn that potential into real impact. Bachir Bennani brought it back to what Wolt is building for merchants: tools to help partners launch, connect their systems, manage operations, grow their presence and prepare for a future where customers (and maybe their AI agents) expect retail to feel even easier. Catalina Salazar, John Roswech and Georgie Philpotts showed how Wolt Ads and Symbiosys can help retailers connect attention to action, using data, insights and closed-loop measurement across the omnichannel journey. After lunch, Joona Orpana spoke about the promise behind every online order: you get what you ordered, or the best possible alternative without extra hassle. Jaime Teixeira, CEO of Bravo Supermarket Azerbaijan, showed what that promise takes in real life: strong availability, clear ownership, store routines, disciplined assortment management, operational KPIs and a partnership that works in the details. We ended the summit with a cocktail reception in the sunshine and group dinners around Athens, giving us one last chance to connect, reflect and celebrate these two days. A huge thank you to every speaker, partner and Wolt team member who made it happen. See you next year 💙
