Last week, Wolt participated in the Delphi Economic Forum — alongside leading institutional and business representatives from Greece and abroad — contributing to important conversations shaping the future of Europe’s digital economy. Our VP and Head of International Public Policy, Samuel Laurinkari, joined the panel “Europe in the Platform Economy: Competitiveness, Innovation & Regulation,” discussing the role of platforms in driving innovation and growth across the region. We also hosted a roundtable, “The Future of the European Gig Economy,” bringing together policymakers, platforms, and labour representatives to exchange views on the future of work in the platform economy and the transposition of the Platform Work Directive across EU member states. A key takeaway from these discussions: flexibility and protection are not opposing forces. With the right approach, they can go hand in hand — supporting innovation while ensuring meaningful safeguards for people. At Wolt, we remain committed to contributing to an open and constructive dialogue on the future of platform work in Europe, while continuing to support local businesses, empower partners, and create flexible earning opportunities.
